Parachute investigation

As part of our investigation in to forces, we have been investigating how papachutes work.

We made parachutes out of different types of materials to see which worked best. We found out that the material needs to be strong but flexible to be the best parachute.

Next we looked at how the size of the parachute impacts on how quickly and safely the parachute falls.

For air resistance to have the greatest impact and slow down the fall we need a greater surface area.
